We went for a newer and darker approach to pinup as opposed to the cheesecake style of the 40s and 50s. I think Fifi thought this suited her persona more and shes quite right. It occured to me that pinup phototgraphy does not seem to require much in the way of exciting daring or creative lighting as such. So I was worried the shots would look too plain at first. But then I realised that sometimes its quite satisfying just to focus on trying to capture the glamour and seductiveness. Light it nicely direct and capture We are hoping to do another shoot sometime in the near future but this time on the side of Burlesque which I am really looking forward to. Sometimes especially when working in a studio environment it can be such a pleasure to work with someone who wants to be photographed who has a certain style and character which they want to portray through a photograph and has the wardrobe and makeup to fit. Then its up to me to direct them light and capture them appropriately. I have absolutely no desire to venture in Fashion photography no disrespect to Fashion photographers I understand it can be a very challenging genre and requires great skill because at times the very thought of the fashion industry in general can invoke reactions of distaste in me. It simply just doesnt float my boat.
